Wasco County Transit

The Mid-Columbia Council of Government's Transportation Network (The Link) provides dial-a-ride, door-to-door service within the City of The Dalles and select areas in Wasco County. The service connects to Greyhound for trips to Hood River, Portland and points east of The Dalles.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, The Link and Columbia Area Transit provide a fixed route service to and from Portland, except for major holidays and if weather conditions make it unsafe or hazardous to travel between The Dalles, Hood River, and Portland. Columbia Area Transit also provides an intercity bus service between Hood River and The Dalles on weekdays.

Please note: the fixed route service is first-come, first-served, there are no reservations and the bus will leave without you if you are not at the designated stops on time. Designated stop times are when the bus leaves the stop. If you have arrived AFTER the designated stop time you may have missed the bus. Be aware that if you have arrived at the stop BEFORE the designated stop time and you do not see a bus, traffic may have delayed the bus.

Fare: Fares range from $1.50 to $5.00 each way. Please have exact fare or tickets ready as drivers cannot make change. Tickets and ticket books can be purchased at the The Link Public Transit office at 802 Chenowith Loop Road, The Dalles, Oregon, or by calling (541) 296-7595.

Dial-a-Ride
The Transportation Network offers Dial-A-Ride, door-to-door transportation services in Wasco County. Dial-A-Ride trips are scheduled in advance, and may include other passengers riding on the bus going to different destinations. The Transportation Network operates lift-equipped buses to serve customers who require the use of a wheelchair, or have difficulty negotiating steps. The Transportation Network is a convenient way to make essential trips to shopping, work, medical appointments, or recreational activities.

Hours: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Fare: $3.00 for unlimited stops
No shopping bag limit.
The Link's bus drivers are courteous and will help load
and unload your bags.
(Bags must be under 25 pounds)
